Camp Trinidad is a family-owned RV resort and cabin property in Trinidad, California, on the Northern California coast. We offer full-hookup RV sites, furnished tiny-house cabins, and convenient access to beaches and redwood forests. Guests can also enjoy our ocean-view hot tub, onsite walking trails, Camp Store, playground, and dog park.
Yes. Camp Trinidad welcomes guests year-round. Summer offers mild coastal weather, while fall and winter are popular for quieter beach visits, dramatic ocean views, and redwood exploration. We also offer long-term RV stays in the winter.
Yes. Camp Trinidad makes a convenient home base for visiting Redwood National and State Parks. Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and other southern park destinations are about 25–30 minutes north, depending on where you’re headed. Guests can also explore redwood walking trails right on our property.
Camp Trinidad is located across the street from the Pacific Ocean, and select RV sites and cabins offer ocean views. There is no direct beach access from the property, but several beaches and coastal viewpoints are a short walk or drive away.
We offer full-hookup RV sites and furnished ocean-view tiny-house cabins. Our collection also includes rooms at the Historic Schoolhouse Inn and nearby vacation rental homes, Wind & Tide and The Bluffs. Each accommodation type offers different amenities and layouts.
Camp Trinidad Cabins
Yes. Our furnished cabins are approximately 400-square-foot tiny houses with private bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, Smart TVs, and parking. They offer an alternative to traditional RV camping for travelers who want their own indoor accommodations near the coast and redwoods.
Yes. Our cabins include cooking facilities, dishes, utensils, and basic kitchen essentials, making it easier to prepare meals during your stay.
The cabins can accommodate up to three guests, with a queen bedroom and a sleeper sofa. Check the occupancy limit for your selected cabin before booking.
Yes. Camp Trinidad’s cabins welcome pets, subject to our property rules. Dogs must be leashed while outside, and guests are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.
Yes. Every Camp Trinidad cabin has its own private bathroom and shower. Towels, bedding, and additional blankets are provided.
Yes. Cabins 31, 33, and 34 have wood-burning fire pits. Cabin 32 has a gas fire pit and deck. Firewood is available for purchase at the Camp Store for guests using wood-burning fire pits.Yes. Our cabins have approximately 5–10 stairs leading to their entrances and are not wheelchair accessible.
Reservations & Check-In
RV check-in begins at 2 PM. Cabin guests should refer to their reservation confirmation for their designated check-in time.
Our Camp Store and front desk close at 6 PM. If you’re arriving after hours, please contact us in advance for check-in instructions.
Cancellation policies vary depending on whether you’ve booked an RV site or cabin and how far in advance you cancel. Please review the cancellation terms provided during booking or contact our office with questions.
Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM. We ask all guests to keep noise to a minimum during these hours so everyone can enjoy a peaceful stay.
Yes! You can request a specific RV site for an additional $15 site-lock fee, subject to availability. Without a site lock, assignments may change based on operational needs.
Yes. We offer extended and monthly RV stays in Trinidad, California, subject to availability and approval. Long-term guests must complete an application and sign a registration agreement. Contact us to inquire about availability and the application process.
Nearby Beaches & Redwoods
Camp Trinidad is a short drive from several Northern California beaches, including Trinidad State Beach, Moonstone Beach, College Cove, Luffenholtz Beach, and Agate Beach at Sue-Meg State Park. These beaches offer opportunities for beachcombing, wildlife watching, tide pooling, and enjoying the Pacific coastline.
The southern areas of Redwood National and State Parks are approximately 25–30 minutes north of Camp Trinidad. Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway are popular nearby destinations for exploring old-growth redwood forests.
Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park is one of the closest places to see old-growth coastal redwoods. Visitors can explore trails and scenic drives along Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway. Camp Trinidad also has walking trails through redwoods on our property.
Trinidad Head is a popular location for spotting migrating gray whales and other marine wildlife from shore. Kayak Trinidad also offers guided wildlife and whale-watching tours.
Trinidad State Beach, College Cove, Indian Beach, Luffenholtz Beach, and Moonstone Beach are popular places to explore tide pools. Visit during low tide for the best opportunities to see marine life, and always check ocean conditions before heading out.
Yes. Moonstone Beach and the lagoons near Trinidad are popular options for dog-friendly visitors. Check the posted beach rules and leash requirements before you go.
Popular nearby hikes include Trinidad Head, Elk Head and College Cove, Luffenholtz Beach, and trails within Sue-Meg State Park. Farther north, Redwood National and State Parks offer hiking trails through old-growth redwood forests.
Trinidad has a cool coastal climate, with temperatures generally ranging from 55–70°F throughout the year. Summers are mild and often foggy in the mornings, while winters tend to be wetter. We recommend packing layers and a rain jacket regardless of when you visit.
Trinidad is a year-round destination. Summer offers mild temperatures and outdoor activities, spring brings wildflowers and lush forests, fall is a great time for coastal hikes, and winter offers dramatic ocean scenery and quieter beaches.
Camp Trinidad RV Sites
Yes. All Camp Trinidad RV sites include water, sewer, and electrical hookups. Every site offers 30-amp electrical service, and select sites provide 50-amp service.
Yes. RV sites 2, 12, and 13 offer 50-amp electrical service. All other sites have 30-amp service. We recommend confirming electrical requirements before booking.
Yes. We offer pull-through RV sites for guests who prefer easier arrival and departure. Most of our other sites are back-in sites. Availability depends on your RV size and travel dates.
We can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet, with larger vehicles assigned to designated sites. Please provide your RV’s total length when booking so we can help determine the right site.
Our RV sites generally include picnic tables and fire pits. Site 38 does not have a fire pit. Specific amenities may vary by site, so review your selected accommodation before booking.
Yes, when available. Guests may request a particular RV site and pay a $15 site-lock fee to secure the assignment. Otherwise, site assignments may change to accommodate park operations.
Yes. Camp Trinidad offers monthly and extended RV stays, subject to availability and approval. Our monthly accommodations include full hookups and access to resort amenities. Applications and signed agreements are required for approved long-term guests.
Yes. Our monthly RV accommodations can be a convenient option for healthcare workers, traveling professionals, and extended-stay visitors working in the Trinidad, McKinleyville, Arcata, and greater Humboldt County area. Monthly reservations require approval and are accepted by phone.
Resort Amenities
Yes! Camp Trinidad welcomes dogs at all RV sites and cabins. We have an onsite dog park and walking trails for guests to enjoy with their pets. Dogs must remain leashed outside designated off-leash areas, and guests are responsible for cleaning up after them.
Yes. Guests can relax in our ocean-view hot tub, open daily from 8 AM to 10 PM.
Yes. Camp Trinidad has private campground bathrooms with showers, available 24 hours a day. We also have on-site laundry facilities for guests.
Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout Camp Trinidad, including our RV resort and cabins. Connect to the “camp trinidad” network. No password is required.
Yes! Our on-site Camp Store carries camping essentials, firewood, ice, snacks, beer, wine, ice cream, souvenirs, gifts, and basic RV supplies. We also offer complimentary coffee for Camp Trinidad guests. The store is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM.
Yes. Families can enjoy our on-site playground and walking trails through the redwoods. Nearby beaches, tide pools, Trinidad Harbor, and Sue-Meg State Park offer plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures with kids.
No, we don’t have an onsite restaurant. Downtown Trinidad is approximately three miles away and has several restaurants and cafes. Our cabins have cooking facilities, and our Camp Store carries snacks and beverages.
Dining & Local Attractions
Downtown Trinidad, approximately three miles south of Camp Trinidad, has several restaurants and cafes. Local options include Larrupin’, Moonstone Grill, Trinidad Bay Eatery, Seascape, Lighthouse Grill, and Headies Pizza & Pour.
Murphy’s Market in downtown Trinidad is approximately three miles from Camp Trinidad and carries groceries, beverages, and everyday essentials. Our onsite Camp Store also sells snacks, ice, beverages, and basic supplies.
Yes! Trinidad Bay and Big Lagoon are popular kayaking destinations. Kayak Trinidad offers guided tours, kayak rentals, lessons, and paddleboarding opportunities.
Trinidad Harbor and Trinidad Pier are popular areas for fishing and crabbing. The surrounding coast also offers surf fishing and charter fishing opportunities. Be sure to check current California fishing regulations before heading out.
Families can explore tide pools, visit Trinidad Pier, walk along Moonstone Beach, hike through the redwoods, or spend the day at Big Lagoon. Sue-Meg State Park is also nearby and offers coastal viewpoints, trails, and opportunities to explore the natural beauty of Northern California.
California Redwood Coast–Humboldt County Airport (ACV) in McKinleyville is approximately 20–25 minutes from Camp Trinidad by car. Rental cars are available at the airport.
